Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China’s first national forest park, is located in Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province. It is renowned for its unique quartz sandstone peak forest landforms and is often described as an “enlarged bonsai and a miniaturized fairyland.” It is also an important part of the World Natural Heritage. The park served as the inspiration for the movie Avatar and is an ideal destination for exploring natural wonders. The off-season ticket price is 128 yuan, which includes the park’s shuttle service and is valid for four days. It is recommended to enter from the East Gate, take the shuttle to the Tianzi Mountain cable car station, and then ride the cable car up the mountain to save time and avoid peak crowds.




3. 土家风情园 Tujia Folklore Park
Centered around the Tusi Castle, the Tujia Folklore Park gathers the agricultural, military, Tusi, architectural, and folk cultures of the Tujia ethnic group. The park’s buildings, mostly made of wood and stone, are exquisitely carved and painted, showcasing the unique architectural art of the Tujia people. The Jiuchongtian Hereditary Hall, the tallest and largest all-wooden structure stilt house in China, stands 48 meters high with nine levels and twelve stories, representing a miracle in Tujia architectural history.
